So Far, Untitled Love

The starting point for this project was to use documentary photography to explore longing, loneliness, love and humans as individuals and social animals. During the creative process, I sought out stories, everyday situations, and moments in the Päijät-Häme region.

Beneath the surface of the photographs lies our human need to connect with each other and our environment. No one should be alone, yet everyone experiences it at some point in their everyday lives. Longing cripples, touches and even kills. We all want to be seen and loved unconditionally, just as we are. Social media in particular reveals people's hunger to be seen. Evolution has shaped our species in such a way that we are always aware of other people around us.
